Manaslu Region Trek

Manaslu Region Trekking takes you to the remote Manaslu region which is an extraordinary experience. It offers spectacular views of the mountains and provides an opportunity to cross the Larkya/Larke La Pass located at 5160 meters.

Manaslu is the 8th highest mountain (peak) on the planet, locally called the 'mountain of the soul', one of the most spectacular snow peaks in Nepal. Manaslu was officially opened for trekking in the early 90s, there are several routes for trekking holidays around Manaslu which are Manaslu Circuit, Tsum Valley, and Rupinala Pass.

The most popular attraction is the Manaslu circuit trek that crosses the Larkya La pass and overlooks the Himalayas. Larkya Pass is a challenging pass in Nepal.

Tsum Valley is a currently open trekking trail that offers a pleasant culture and reaches close to the Nepal-Tibet border. The Rupinala Pass Trek is a difficult, less visited, and rural rocky route that requires a good walking experience of the High Himalayas. The trek to the Manaslu region is a step back in time, a walk through a remote Himalayan paradise, a glimpse of pristine Nepalese and Tibetan villages.

Manaslu region is becoming very popular these days to see the unique treasures, hidden beauty, and unmatched cultural heritage of the Himalayas. The trekking leads through the Hindu middle hills to the Tibetan high-country dwellers, which offer terrific mountain views of Mount Manaslu, Buddha Himal, and the surrounding peaks.

As the number of visitors to the area increased, locals, upgraded their homes into community teahouses to provide accommodation and food for trekkers and climbers. So it is possible to operate the Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley trekking in a teahouse/lodge, but the Rupinala Pass trek still needs to be operated as a camping/tented camp.

Trekking around Manaslu requires a special trek permit as well as Manaslu and Annapurna Conservation Area Entry Permit. Special permits require a group size of at least two people, meaning solo/single people cannot get special permits.

It is possible to make the Manaslu trek itinerary shorter and longer as per the requirement of the customer. The Manaslu trekking routes given below are more typical ones that give you lasting memories of the distant Himalayas. The challenge of Manaslu Trek has a unique unparalleled environment, as relatively few trekkers visit, making your experience all the more unique and unspoiled.

You will be greatly rewarded and feel a great sense of compassion as you experience everyday life in remote villages, going to school, meeting local people and seeing how isolated this area is.
