Renjo La, Cho La and Everest Base Camp Trek
The Renjo La, Chola Pass and Everest Base Camp Trek is a challenging trail that passes through rugged terrain, high altitude passes and remote villages. This trek begins and ends at Lukla, a small town with an airport that serves as the gateway to the Everest region.
From Lukla, the trail heads north past traditional Sherpa villages, ancient Buddhist monasteries, lush forests, Gokyo glacial lakes and glaciers. On the way to Renjo La Pass and Cho La Pass, hikers will have the opportunity to enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains, including Mount Everest. Renjo La Pass is considered a challenging pass, reaching an altitude of 5,360 meters. Cho La Pass, on the other hand, is considered a moderately difficult pass, reaching an altitude of 5,420 meters.
The trek to the two passes is strenuous and requires good physical condition, but the panoramic views of the mountain ranges and glaciers are worth it. The trek usually takes 16 –19 days to complete. This trek is considered one of the most rewarding treks in Nepal as it gives trekkers the opportunity to explore the beautiful Himalayas, experience the unique Sherpa culture and also see the highest mountain in the world up close.
Renjo La and Cho La Pass Trek with Everest Base Camp 19 days is an ideal journey that will take you to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar via Renjo La and Cho La Pass. After Kala Patthar, you will trek downhill and pass through several villages including Dingboche and Tengboche on your way back to Lukla.
