Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek - 11 Days
The Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek Program is designed for those who have limited time but want to trek to Mount Everest Base Camp in Nepal. In fact, reaching Mount Everest Base Camp is almost a trekker's dream, so why not go for this trek yourself, even if you have limited time. It is an 11-day itinerary that requires a brisk walk as compared to other normal trekkers. The trek takes you to the base camp (5364 m) of Mount Everest and the top of Kala Patthar (5545 m) for amazing mountain views with excellent sunrise. The trek starts after a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and ends at Lukla.
The trek route passes through Sherpa villages and old Tibetan Buddhist monasteries (gompas), mani stones whose shapes echo from the mountains, prayer wheels so large that they take our full body-weight to turn, ice-cold rivers and the world’s highest suspension bridge, mossy forests and bare, high-altitude rock-scapes. And of course, the views of the highest mountains in the world, Everest and Ama Dablam are the most spectacular among them.
The trek route/trail is inside the Sagarmatha National Park (Sagarmatha is the Nepali name for Everest), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a refuge for musk deer, red panda, snow leopard, Himalayan tahr, black bear, and pheasant. The prime trekking season brings serious crowds on this trek. The best time to trek Everest Base Camp is in spring and autumn, but it is possible to trek Everest Base Camp anytime of the year without any difficulty.
Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek will also cover all the destinations of long day trek but you need to walk fast and there is no extra day to adapt to the high altitude during the whole trekking. This trek is one of the most famous treks in the world to witness the great views of the Himalayas and the native Sherpas and their culture. Of course, the main goal of this trek is to reach the base camp of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. However, the trip is not complete without climbing Kala Patthar (also spelled out as Kalapathar) offers a better view than Everest Base Camp.
Nepal’s Everest Base Camp is quite different from other Base Camps treks in Nepal because we can’t see the best view of Mount Everest even from the Everest Base Camp (5364 meters) means there are other insanely tall mountains blocking some view of Mount Everest so most of the trekkers climb the non-technical peak Kala Patthar (5545 meters) for the best views of Mount Everest and surrounding Himalayas. After the summit of Kala Patthar, get down to Gorakshep and start your trek back to Lukla, which takes a few days to reach where your trek ends. From Lukla, you will get an exciting early morning flight to Kathmandu.
