Langtang Valley Trek is one of the most delightful and easy short treks in Nepal. It offers dense forests, mountains, landscapes, glaciers, beautiful nature, and rich cultural heritage. Langtang Valley Trekking also known as “Valley of Glacier Trekking” is covered by Langtang National Park, a park where you will find massive snow-capped mountains and beautiful glaciers. Langtang Valley Trek is in a narrow valley bordering Tibet, but still far away from the Tibetan Plateau. This trekking provides a great opportunity to explore villages, climb small peaks and visit glaciers in comfort. The people living here look like Tibetans, the great influence of Tibet can be experienced in this valley. The Tamang tribe is the main settler in the Langtang Himalayan region.
Given below is our Langtang Valley trek itinerary, the trekking starts from Syabru Besi and ends at Dhunche. If you prefer to use the public bus to get to Syabru Besi and return from Dhunche, there are daily public bus services available.
Kyanjin Gompa (3870 m) is the last stop of the Langtang Valley Trek, with good teahouse/lodge facilities. From here it is possible to climb higher places like Kyanjin Ri (4773 m) and Tsergo Ri (4984 m) which offer stunning mountain views and spectacular views of glaciers, but you will need to return to Kyanjin Gompa for an overnight stay. It is necessary because there is no accommodation facility after Kyanjin Gompa.
Langtang Valley offers excellent teahouse/lodge accommodation and food of great value, plus the low altitude of this trekking allows us to trekking even in winter. This trekking route is less crowded than other popular trekking and hiking routes in Nepal.
In the lower part of the Langtang Valley trek, you will walk through forests of rhododendron and oak, etc., but the upper part of the trekking needs to be followed by a dry or snow/Ice path depending on the season. Throughout the trip you will see many species of live birds and animals. Snow clad mountains, huge glaciers and alpine landscape make this trekking even more enjoyable.
