Annapurna Sanctuary and Muktinath Trek

Annapurna Sanctuary (ABC) and Muktinath Trek is a moderate level trekking in the Annapurna region of Nepal. The trek requires a good walking experience and good physical condition to make your trip a success. The scenery of the trek covers the view of Machhapuchhre (fishtail), Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and other beautiful mountains. The trek route passes through various ethnic villages, forests, and cultivable land. It holds natural attractions during the trek. Rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal, which blooms in March-April. The route climbs up to Annapurna Base Camp at 4130m and then descends back to Chhomrong village and then climbs to the Ghorepani Poon hill, this is the best viewpoint of the entire Annapurna region where you can enjoy a good view of the sunrise and the excellent mountains.

After visiting Poon Hill, you will need to follow a downhill trail to Tatopani (natural hot springs). This is a great place to take a bath in the natural hot spring. From Tatopani, you will continue your journey through the Kali Gandaki River valley to the pilgrimage town of Muktinath. The trail leads slowly uphill to Muktinath. Presently, it is connected by a motor road from Tatopani to Muktinath which is a hassle for trekking as one needs to walk on a motor road. However, it is still good to walk on the Mountain Motor Road which is another experience that you will get from this trek.

Muktinath is a Vishnu temple, sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. It is situated at the foothills of Thorong La Pass in the Mustang district of Nepal. It is located at 3800 m. Every year thousands of devotees come to this temple to worship. Undoubtedly this is a unique place to visit where you will get amazing views of the dry Mustang valley, Mustang Tibetan culture, Buddhist monasteries, Hindu temples and beautiful mountains. After visiting Muktinath Temple and the surrounding area, take the downhill trail to Jomsom where your trek ends. From here we will fly to Pokhara. From Pokhara, you will return to Kathmandu by tourist bus.
