Jomsom Muktinath trek is also called Kali Gandaki valley trek and Lower Mustang trek, it is a very famous pilgrimage trekking route in Nepal offers fine mountains views, nice view of Kali Gandaki River, Muktinath temple and Buddhist stupas. The Jomsom Muktinath trekking is start from Pokhara and leads you through the valley of the Kali Gandaki River to the pilgrim site of Muktinath. The physical beauty along the Jomsom Muktinath trek is breathtaking. The mountain viewing is brilliant in this trek and various ethnic groups of Nepal can be encountered along the way. The diverse landscapes and cultures to be found along this trekking route give a marvelous insight into the rural life of Nepalese people.
The main feature of this trek is walking through the gorge carved by the Kali Gandaki River. This River forms the largest gorge in the world, on one side lies the Annapurna mountain range and on the other side is Dhaulagiri. The final destination of the trek is to reach the Muktinath (3800m).
Muktinath is of religious importance for both Hindus and Buddhists. The main shrine is a pagoda shaped temple dedicated to lord Vishnu; there are 108 water spouts around the wall of temple. The Jwala mai temple near by contains a spring and an eternal flame fed by natural gas underground. Since ancient times, there divine flames of jwala have been worshipped as Jwaladevi (the goddes of flame).
After Muktinath continues trek down to the Tatopani then climb another most popular place called Ghorepani to visit the Poon Hill (3210m) from where you will see the fine mountains views and best sunrise views. After enjoy the fine mountains and sunrise views from Poon Hill then continue trek to Tadapani, Ghandruk village, Pothana and Dhampus phedi to finish the trek.
After motor road construction between Beni to Muktinath most of trekkers choose a vehicle to travel from Jomsom to Tatopani because motor road disturbed to the walkers but still beautiful to walks.
