Gosaikunda Lake Trek
Gosaikunda Lake Trek is located in the Langtang National Park, north of Kathmandu. The Gosaikunda Loop is a quite remote and sparsely populated area. A glacier lake, Gosaikunda, is the most famous of the many other glacier lakes in Nepal. It is a very famous holy lake for Hindus and Buddhists. Thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit the Gosaikunda Lake every year during the full moon festival in August and Hindu people believe that the god Mahadev (Shiva), intoxicated by grief due to his wife (Parbati) death, felt thirsty so he hit the stone with his holy stick (holy trident), Finally, water came from hit stone then Lord Shiva drank the water and remove his thirstiness and slept there, latter on became his sleeping area is beautiful Gosainkunda Lake.
This is the history of the origin of the Gosaikunda Lake and Hindus believe that the image of Mahadev (Shiva) can be seen in the middle surface of the water. This is a journey with numerous highlights, stunning views of Langtang range, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Annapurna massif as far as you can see.
Gosaikunda Lake trek can be extended for more days but you need to adjust along with it to Helambu Valley but you need to cross Louribina/Gosaikunda Pass (4610 m) to reach Helambu Valley. But the itinerary below is specifically designed for short vacation periods.
Gosaikunda Lake Trek Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and trek preparation
Day 03: Drive to Dhunche (1960m)
Day 04: Trek to Sing Gompa (3330m)
Day 05: Trek to Lauribina Yak (3920m)
Day 06: Trek to Gosaikunda (4460m)
Day 07: Trek to Dhunche (1960m)
Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu (1350m)
Day 09: Depart Kathmandu
PRICE INCLUDES:-
