Manaslu Circuit and Annapurna Circuit are two popular trekking routes in Nepal. They can be done separately or combined in a single trek. Manaslu and Annapurna Circuit Trek is a long trek consisting of two high passes, Larkya La Pass and Thorong La Pass, both over 5000 meters high, Larkya La Pass (5,160 m) and Thorong La Pass (5,416 m).
Manaslu (8,163 m) is the eighth highest peak in the world, and its territory was opened for trekking only in 1991. From Gorkha, head north along the Budhi Gandaki River and then west into a high alpine valley with typical Tibetan villages and a number of beautiful monasteries.
A steeper climb to Larkya La Pass is rewarded with breathtaking views of Manaslu. In Dharapani you will meet the Annapurna Circuit Trail and follow the Marsyangdi River upstream.
After Pisang you get stunning up-close views of snowy and glaciated high peaks including Annapurnas II, III and IV. Huge glacial moraines abound, etched deeply by wind erosion into fantastic pillars. We complete this breath-taking route by crossing the Thorong La pass to Jomosom.
From there, we can either fly or drive to Pokhara or Trekking continues through the Kali Gandaki river valley and then climbs up to Ghorepani to the best hill station, Poon Hill (3,210 m). From here, you will enjoy stunning dawn views of Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South.
But the itinerary given below is a trek that ends in Jomsom and takes a flight to Pokhara. If you don't want to use a flight from Jomsom, there is now a motor road connecting to Pokhara, so it is possible to travel from Jomsom to Pokhara in a single day. There are regular bus services. From Pokhara, you come back to Kathmandu by Tourist Bus or if you pay the flight fare then come back by flight.
