Chhukung Ri, Short Everest High Exploration Trek

For those who have short time but want to go higher elevation (high altitude route) trek for the amazing views and experience the Sherpa culture for them we recommend making a Short Everest High Exploration trekking which is also known as Explore Chhukung Ri (5550 meter). Chhukung (Chukkung) Ri is a rocky peak, similar to Kala Patthar above the village of Chhukung in the Everest (Khumbu) Region of Nepal. The trek begins from Lukla and ends at Lukla airport, just 35 minutes flight from Kathmandu airport. All along this part of the trail, villages are interspersed with magnificent forests of rhododendron, magnolia and giant firs.

In both the early autumn and late spring, the flowers on this portion of the trek make it the kind of walk you will remember for a long, long time. After Namche Bazaar we go to the Phortse village (3870m), it is a beautiful Sherpa village. From here you will see the beautiful Himalayan views, including Mount Cho Oyu. After Phortse village you will follow the small path to Pangboche (3930m) then you will join with regular Everest base camp trekking trail so please continue trek to Dingboche (4410m).

Dingboche is the last stop of our trek. From here you need to go for a day hike to Chhukhung RI (5550m), the highest point of our trek. Chhukung Ri offers splendid panoramic views including Mount Lhotse, Lhotse shar, Nuptse, Island peak, peak 38, Pumori, Lobuche peak, Cho oyo, Ama dablam, Amphu Lapcha, Baruntse, Makalu, cholaste, Tawache, Thamsheku and Kongde Ri etc. After Chhukung RI you will trek back to Lukla through the Tengboche monastery, it is a famous monastery in Everest Region from where you will see good views of Mount Everest.

Day 05: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar (3440m)
