The 4 Days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the most popular short treks in Nepal, located in the Annapurna region. It is designed for travelers who want to experience the Himalayas in a limited time without going into high-altitude or technical trekking routes.

Starting from Pokhara, the trail passes through beautiful villages, terraced farmland, waterfalls, and dense rhododendron forests. Along the way, you will experience the warm hospitality of Gurung and Magar communities, stay in traditional teahouses, and enjoy ever-changing mountain landscapes.

The main highlight of this trek is the sunrise view from Poon Hill (3,210 m), where you can see panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and other Himalayan peaks glowing in golden light.

Detailed Day-to-Day Itinerary

Day 01 Drive to Nayapul, Birethanti and trek to Ulleri (1,960 m)

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. From here, the trek starts with a gentle walk to Birethanti, a small riverside village where trekking permits are checked. After Birethanti, the trail gradually follows the Modi Khola River and climbs uphill through villages like Tikhedhunga and Hile. You will pass suspension bridges, waterfalls, and forested paths along the way. The final section of the day is a steep stone staircase leading up to Ulleri, a traditional hillside village surrounded by green hills and mountain scenery.

Day 02 Ulleri trek to Ghorepani (2,855 m)

After breakfast, the trail continues through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. The climb is steady but rewarding, with peaceful surroundings and occasional mountain views. As you approach Ghorepani, the landscape opens up into a scenic mountain village surrounded by forests and distant Himalayan peaks.

Day 03 Sunrise at Poon Hill (3, 210 m) and trek to Tadapani (2,610 m)

Early morning, you hike to Poon Hill for a breathtaking sunrise view over the Himalayan ranges. After enjoying the scenery, you return to Ghorepani for breakfast. The trail then continues through dense rhododendron forests toward Tadapani. This section is quiet and scenic, offering a relaxing walk through nature.

Day 04 Tadapani trek to Ghandruk (1,940 m) and drive to Pokhara (820 m)

Today’s trail descends through lush forests to Ghandruk, one of the most beautiful Gurung villages in the region. Here you can explore traditional houses, local culture, and mountain viewpoints. From Ghandruk, you walk to Kimche and then drive back to Pokhara, completing your trek.

Typically, packages include accommodation, meals during the trek, guide and porter services, permits, and ground transportation. Flight costs, insurance, and personal expenses are usually excluded.
While prior trekking experience helps, most treks are designed to be achievable with average fitness. Some high-altitude treks may require conditioning or preparation beforehand.
There is no strict age limit, but participants should be reasonably fit. Trekkers above 60 or with health conditions should consult a doctor before the trip.

Packing & Gear

You’ll need layered clothing, good trekking boots, a daypack, a sleeping bag (if not provided), and basic toiletries. A detailed packing list will be shared upon booking.
Yes, you can rent most essential gear like down jackets, sleeping bags, and poles from local shops at affordable rates.
Keep your daypack light with only essentials (water, snacks, jacket). The porter will carry your main bag, usually limited to 10–15 kg.
