  • Overview of the trek

Nepal, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, is one of the most important destinations for Buddhist pilgrims worldwide. A Buddhist pilgrimage tour in Nepal offers a chance to explore the country’s deep spiritual traditions, ancient monasteries, sacred stupas, meditation caves, and gompas. It is a journey of cultural discovery and inner peace.

The tour begins in Kathmandu, where you visit Swayambhunath, the iconic Monkey Temple, offering panoramic views and a deep spiritual atmosphere. Nearby, the grand Boudhanath Stupa stands as a hub of Tibetan Buddhist culture, surrounded by monasteries and prayer flags. In the southern hills of the valley, Pharping welcomes pilgrims to sacred meditation caves such as Yangleshö and Asura Cave, linked to Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), a key figure in Tibetan Buddhism.

Also included is Kopan Monastery, famous for its meditation courses and peaceful environment, and Namobuddha, a serene hilltop site where, according to legend, Buddha in a previous life sacrificed himself to save a starving tigress and her cubs. Both offer perfect settings for reflection and spiritual practice.

The journey continues to Lumbini, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Here, the Maya Devi Temple, Sacred Garden, Ashoka Pillar, and international monasteries create a space of profound peace and devotion.

A Buddhist pilgrimage tour in Nepal is not just a visit to sacred sites — it is an invitation to walk in the footsteps of the Enlightened One, deepen your spiritual understanding, and experience the living heart of Buddhism.

"A very well-managed tour with a friendly and experienced guide—it was one of the best parts of my trip! I’ve made a great friend in my guide, and I’m sure we’ll stay in touch for a long time. Binod Thapa, I think you’re running a fantastic business, and I’ll definitely use your services again soon. I came to Nepal for the food, the people, and the experience—and found all three in abundance. As a photographer, I’ve seen and captured more than most do in a lifetime. Thank you both for such a memorable journey. I’ll be back! I highly recommend Alpine Adventure Club to everyone planning to travel to Nepal and beyond for trekking, tours, and adventures."
