Mulde (Muldai) Hill Trek
Mulde Hill (Danda) Trek also known as Muldai Hill (Danda) Trek is one of the most beautiful and short trekking in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Muldai Hill (Danda) viewpoint is a hill station situated at an altitude of 3,637 meters. It is on the way to Khopra Ridge, a newly opened trekking trail. There are several starting points and ending points for this trek, but most trekkers start the trek from Nayapul and end at Nayapul, which is accessible by road from Pokhara. However, some trekkers start the trek from Ghandruk village after driving off-road between Nayapul to Ghandruk, but the road may be blocked during the rainy season (monsoon).
The main highlight of the Muldai Danda trek is reaching the Muldai View Point, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the sunrise and sunset over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. The Muldai Danda trek is considered a moderate trek. While the trail includes some uphill sections and steep climbs, it is generally manageable and requires no experience.
Our trek itinerary includes two prominent places, Muldai Hill and Poon Hill. Both are the best places for amazing mountain views and sunrise views. If you don't want to go to Poon Hill (3,210 m), you have to come back the way you went.
The journey starts from Kathmandu to Pokhara by flight (about 25 minutes) or tourist bus (about 7-8 hours). Overnight stay at Pokhara and visit Phewa Lake site area and proceed for text day trekking, drive to Nayapul from where your trek begins and follow the flat and uphill trail to Ghandruk village and Tadapani. After Tadapani, one has to climb almost uphill through forest paths to Dobato (3,350 m). This is the last stop before reaching Mudai Hill (Danda).
Early in the morning you need to climb Muldai (Mulde) hill for sunrise view and views of the outstanding mountains standing in the area. You will see a total of 25 mountains which stand in the Annapurna Range, Dhaulagiri Range, Nilgiri and Lamjung Himal Range.
After visiting to Muldai hill, proceed to Ghorepani and take the ascending route through the forests till Deurali and then descend to Ghorepani. It is a good place to spend the night and visit the Poon Hill Viewpoint. You will head to Poon Hill early in the morning for a good view of the sunrise and spectacular views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.
After visiting Poon Hill, trek to Nayapul via Ulleri and then drive to Pokhara. The next day, depending on the service you choose, catch a bus or flight to Kathmandu.
