Kathmandu Valley Tour FAQ

Overview & Essentials

The Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Lumbini tour package typically includes hotel accommodation with daily breakfast, private or tourist vehicle transportation, guided sightseeing with entrance fees, and airport transfers. Some packages may also include domestic flights between cities. A licensed English-speaking guide and all government taxes are usually covered. However, international flights, travel insurance, personal expenses, tips, and most lunches or dinners are not included unless specified.

Arrival & Visa

Most travelers require a tourist visa, which can often be obtained on arrival or online. Check your country’s embassy website for up-to-date visa policies.

Health & Safety

Yes, Nepal is generally safe for tourists. Petty crime like pickpocketing can occur in crowded areas, and you should follow general safety precautions. In mountain regions, the primary risks are related to altitude, weather, and terrain rather than crime.
Before traveling to Nepal, it’s recommended to be up to date on routine vaccinations such as MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis). Additional recommended vaccines include Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, and Rabies, especially if you plan to trek or visit rural areas. Japanese Encephalitis is advised if you're traveling during the monsoon season or staying in rural areas for an extended time. It’s best to consult a travel health clinic at least 4 to 6 weeks before your trip for personalized advice.

Weather & Temperature

The ideal time for a Nepal tour is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons when the weather is generally clear, temperatures are moderate, and visibility is excellent for sightseeing and trekking.
Temperatures vary by location and altitude. In cities and lowlands, winter temperatures range from around 5°C to 15°C (41°F to 59°F). In mountainous areas, especially on trekking routes, it can drop well below freezing, particularly at night.

Accommodation & Facilities

Accommodations on a Nepal tour range from budget guesthouses to mid-range and luxury hotels, depending on the location and itinerary. Most hotels offer comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and essential amenities to ensure a pleasant stay.
Most accommodations include breakfast with the room rate, and many have on-site restaurants serving local and international cuisine for other meals.
Laundry services are commonly available in hotels and guesthouses, usually for an additional fee.
Accommodations are generally safe, often providing safes for valuables and 24-hour reception or security.

Packing & Gear

Layered clothing is essential for Nepal tours. Lightweight clothes work for warm days, but warm jackets, fleece layers, and waterproof gear are important for cooler evenings, rain, and high-altitude areas.
