18+ years Halesi Mahadev - Maratika Cave Tour
The Halesi Maratika Cave Tour, also known as Maratika Cave Monastery Tour or Halesi Mahadev Tour. Halesi Mahadev temple, Maratika cave (also known as Maratika Chimey Takten Choling Monastery) is one of the six holiest places in the world. It is a sacred site for Hindus and Buddhists in the Khotang district of eastern Nepal, which is about 222 km away from Kathmandu. It is the place where the great master, the second Buddha Padmasambhava and Dakini Mandarava obtained the realization of immortal life. Maratika was also blessed by the family of three protectors Manjushri, Vajrapani and Avalokitesavara. The Maratika Cave or Halesi Temple is of religious significance and is associated with the goddess Tara in Buddhism and Mahadev (Shiva) in Hinduism. It is a pilgrimage site that attracts devotees of both religions. The Halesi Mahadev Temple or Maratika Cave is one of the oldest and most sacred sites, as admired by pilgrims as the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu.
It is located in a hilly region between two sacred rivers, the Dhudhkosi and the Sunkosi, which lie to its right and left. It is home to several attractive caves. Likewise, it is famous for its historical, religious culture and tourist significance.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, and you are welcomed by the hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to your hotel. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu drive by 4WD Jeep to Halesi
Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and get ready to drive to Halesi Mahadev. It is around 222 kilometers from Kathmandu. It will take around 7–8 hours to reach. We will drive from Kathmandu via Dhulikhel, Nepalthok, Khurkot all the way to Ghurmi, Okhaldhunga, Jayaram ghat to Halesi. Upon reaching Halesi check in at hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel/Resort.
Day 03: Visit Maratika Cave or Halesi Mahadev Temple and Meditation
Each morning starts pooja (worship) and prayer before breakfast. Following breakfast is an invigorating hike around the Maratika area. We enter the cave, where we feel the spiritual vortex enclose around us. We spend some time in meditation here in this sacred place before returning to our hotel for lunch. Dinner follows and then evening prayers before retiring to bed. Overnight at Hotel/Resort.
Day 04: Halesi drive back by 4WD Jeep to Kathmandu
Wake up early in the morning. Visit again Haleshi Mahadev Temple for worship and back to Hotel take breakfast. After breakfast, follow the same way drive back to Kathmandu. We will arrive in Kathmandu in the late afternoon. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 05: Departure from Kathmandu
You will be transferred to the airport to connect to the onward flight.
