Green Lake Trekking - 12 Days

Green Lake Trekking

Sikkim Green Lake Trekking - this is a very picturesque trail which combines natural beauty with spectacular views of high peaks. The trek to Green Lakes, the base camp of Mount Khanchendzonga on the Zemu Green Lake trek in North Sikkim is a splendid walk with the variety of flowers like rhododendrons, blue poppies and primulas all in bloom. The mountain views are fantastic with amphitheater of peaks with Khangchendzonga at the head of the valley. However, the Green lakes base camp is more than 5000 metres and so proper acclimatization is essential to avoid altitude sickness. Spring is best for many varieties of rhododendron and high altitude plant life. Spring/summer treks are of interest to birdwatchers and flowring plants. Octover-November is best for clear weather and good mountain views.
