Gokyo Lake Trek
$1410 All Inclusive Price.

Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Ri Trek offer views of high Himalayan glacier lakes, idyllic Gokyo Valley, and breathtaking mountains. This is a unique trekking trail that takes you to the home of the famous Sherpa people, located at the foothills of Mount Everest (8848 m), the highest peak in the world. Gokyo Lake Trek is ideal for those who want to trek to the Everest region but don't want to go for the over-crowded traditional Everest Base Camp trek. While trekking, you follow a highly acclaimed trekking route through Dudh Koshi to the source of Gokyo Lake, west of Everest Base Camp. The main goal of this trek is to reach at the Gokyo Lake (4750m) and climb the Gokyo Ri Peak (5357m). Gokyo Ri Peak is a place where you can see 4 peaks above 8000 m together including Mount Everest (8848 m), Cho-Oyo (8153 m), Makalu (8475 m), and Lhotse (8511 m).

Similarly, the trail also offers a spectacular view of Thamserku, Amadablam, Khumbila, Kwande, Pumori, Nuptse, Gyachung Kang, and other snowy Mountains. This trek is also rich in culture i.e. customs with traditional Sherpa culture and Tibetan society is another attraction of this trek.

The trek to Gokyo Lake along Gokyo Ri is less difficult and less crowded than the Everest Base Camp trek. From Gokyo Lake, there are many options for hiking at higher altitudes including Cho La Pass, Renjo La Pass, and Fifth Lakes, although you will not visit these places on this trek.

After enjoying the most beautiful views around Gokyo Lake you will trek back to Lukla, this takes a few days and walks all the way downhill. Lukla is the starting and ending point of this trek. There are daily flights available between Kathmandu and Lukla. After reaching Lukla by trek you will have to stay for one night at Lukla. Only morning flights are available from here to Kathmandu. It is a very smooth, very scenic flight of about 35 minutes to Kathmandu. Offers amazing views of the Himalayas and the Kathmandu Valley.
