Gokyo Fifth Lake Trek

Gokyo Fifth Lake Trek

The Gokyo Fifth Lake Trek is a scenic trek in the Everest region above Gokyo Lake. Gokyo Lake is the third (3rd) lake (4,750 m) that you will see while trekking on Gokyo Lake, but if you are interested in visiting fifth (5th) Lake you need to take the long day hike from Gokyo Lake. The day hike to Fifth Lake is quite long and challenging but very interesting. We offer the Fifth Lake trek along the Renjo La Pass, but it is also possible to accommodate trekking with other popular routes in the Everest region. The route of the Fifth Lake Trek diverges after Namche Bazaar which takes the trekkers to the most beautiful places of the Gokyo Valley. Of course, Gokyo Valley is less crowded than the popular Everest Base Camp route. Fifth Lake is still a virgin where very few people visit so if you plan to visit the Fifth Lake then you will experience the virgin route after gokyo Lake.

If you follow the Fifth Lake trek itinerary below, there's no need for you to climb Gokyo Ri (5357 m) if you prefer to cross Renjo La Pass (5360 m) after Gokyo because you'll have a better view from Renjo La Pass than from Gokyo. RI. To get to Fifth Lake, you have to follow the route north to Gokyo Lake. About two hours' walk from Gokyo Lake you will reach Thonak Cho/Tsho - Fourth (4th) Lake (4840 m), then you will need to reach your final destination Ngozuma Cho/Tsho - Fifth (5th) Lake (4980 m). Have to keep going. During this trip, you will get to see beautiful views of Mount Cho Oyu, Gyeuchung Kang, Ngozumpa Glacier, Everest, Nuptse Lhotse, and Makalu.

Back to Gokyo Lake after visiting the fifth lake. The next day follows the trail to Renjo La Pass (5360 m), which is less crowded and offers the most enjoyable trekking experience in the Everest region. It is still a Virgin Trail (Newly opened trail). Crossing the Renjo La Pass through Gokyo Lake is easier than starting from Thame. Well, after crossing the Renjo La Pass for a few days, you will return to Lukla via Namche Bazaar. After Lukla, you will catch a flight to Kathmandu to end your Himalayan journey.
