Gokyo Fifth Lake Trek
The Gokyo Fifth Lake Trek is a scenic trek inside the Everest region of Nepal. You can do a day hike from the small village of Gokyo to the Fifth Lake to complete your dream adventure and explore the fifth lake of Gokyo. The village of Gokyo is the final destination of the traditional Gokyo trek. There are six lakes in the Gokyo Valley. At the famous Gokyo Lake Trek, which simplest trek that takes you to the Third Lake, positioned at an altitude of 4,750 meters. If you would like to explore more lakes, the Fifth Lake Trek may be the right choice for you, which includes two more lakes, the fourth and fifth lakes. Fifth Lake remains a virgin in which only some people visited, so if you plan to go to the Fifth Lake then you will enjoy the virgin path after Gokyo.
If you follow our trek to the Fifth Lake, it is not necessary to climb Gokyo Ri (5,357 m). From Renjo La Pass you have a better view than from Gokyo RI. To get to the Gokyo Fifth Lake, you have to follow the route north to Gokyo. About two hours walk from Gokyo, you will reach Thonak Cho/Tsho - Fourth Lake (4,840 m), and then you have to reach your final destination Ngozuma Cho/Tsho - Fifth Lake (4,980 m).
You have to keep walking. During this trek, you will enjoy beautiful views of Cho Oyu, Gyeuchung Kang, Ngozumpa Glacier, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Makalu.
After visiting the fifth lake, you return to Gokyo. The next day follows the trail to Renjo La Pass (5,360 m), which is less crowded and offers the most enjoyable trekking experience in the Everest region. It is still a virgin trail (newly opened trail).
Crossing the Renjo La Pass via Gokyo is easier than starting from Thame. After crossing the Renjo La Pass for a few days, return to Lukla via Namche Bazaar. From Lukla, take a flight to Kathmandu to end your Himalayan journey.
