Ghandruk Trek

Ghandruk Trek

Ghandruk Trek is a beautiful short and easy trek from Pokhara situated in the heart of the Annapurna region. Just a day's walk from Pokhara, you reach your final destination, Ghandruk village, one of the developing villages in Nepal. Most of the short trek lovers plan a short hiking trip to Ghandruk village to witness the beautiful landscape, Gurung culture, and impressive mountain scenery. This trek is especially good for families coming with kids or elders, as it doesn’t entail any particularly long walking days and there is always plenty to see. The trek does not involve any difficult climbs or high altitude climbs. From Ghandruk village you have breathtaking views of the most beautiful mountains like Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhare (fishtail), and Hiunchuli.

To start this trek you take a tourist bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara on the first day, it takes around 6 hours in 200 km. You will travel by private vehicle/taxi from Pokhara to Nayapul from where the trek starts. For trekking from Nayapul to Ghandruk village, you have to go a little flat and then go uphill. After reaching Ghandruk village take a tour of Old Gurung Museum and around the village. Waking up early in the morning is good for the panoramic views and the sunrise views over the mountains.

After enjoying Ghandruk, trek to Pothana, walking down and up. The last day of the journey from Pothana to Dhampus Phedi is completely downhill. From Dhampus Phedi to Pokhara you will come by Taxi/Private vehicle and will come back from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus.
