Everest View Trekking
Everest View Trekking is a short trek in the Everest Region to see Mount Everest, the world's highest peak. It provides excellent views of the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, Tengboche Monastery, Sherpa community, and their culture and lifestyle. It is a short and easy trek to the Everest view, making it a great option for those who do not have enough time to continue trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp. The trek takes you to Tengboche/Thyangboche Monastery/Gompa, also known as Dawa Choling Gompa, the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu/Everest region, located at 3867 meters above sea level.
Every year, Tengboche Monastery hosts the delightful Mani Rimdu Festival on the tenth lunar month of the Tibetan calendar, corresponding to the months of October-November. Tengboche Monastery is surrounded by a rhododendron forest. The monastery is structurally located on a ridge top, with commanding views of the Everest landscape including the world's highest peak, Mount Everest (8848 m), Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Thamserku, and other beautiful mountains.
Everest View Trekking starts from Lukla (2840m) after a spectacular flight journey of 35 minutes from Kathmandu Airport (1350m). The trekking passes through several Sherpa villages like Phakding, Namche Bazar, Khumjung village, Khunde village, and many other small villages. Incredible mountain views can be seen from every village.
Namche Bazaar is the gateway to the Khumbu Valley. This is a trade center - sell goods. From Namche Bazaar, people can go to Everest View Hotel - a luxury hotel in the Everest region. The trail to Tengboche follows the contour from Namche Bazar and then descends to the Dudh Koshi River before climbing again to Tengboche Monastery. After the Tengboche trek goes back to Lukla and ends the trek. From Lukla, you will take an early morning flight to Kathmandu. The next day the tour guide will take you on a historical sightseeing tour of the city. The trekking route of Everest View has good teahouse/lodge facilities which make it possible to make trekking affordable.
