  • Overview of the trek

The Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour is one of Nepal’s most thrilling and time-efficient ways to experience the majesty of the Himalayas. In just a few hours, this scenic aerial journey offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, glaciers, and the iconic Mount Everest. Ideal for travelers with limited time, the tour provides a remarkable adventure, operated by Alpine Adventure Club on both a private charter and shared basis during peak seasons.

Though commonly called the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour, the helicopter usually lands at Kala Patthar (5,545 m) instead of Base Camp, as it offers the best panoramic views of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. Landing at Kala Patthar is subject to favorable weather and local government permissions. If a landing isn’t possible, our experienced pilot will choose a safe and scenic alternative to ensure a memorable experience. The helicopter accommodates up to five passengers and the captain, with a maximum weight limit of 500 kg. For groups of more than three people, shuttle flights may be arranged from Pheriche, Shyangboche, or the Everest View Hotel.

After soaking in the stunning views, the flight heads to the Everest View Hotel for breakfast with a breathtaking mountain backdrop. The return journey includes a short refueling stop at Lukla before flying back to Kathmandu, where you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Throughout the flight, our highly experienced pilot offers insightful commentary on the region’s iconic peaks and landscapes. Tour prices vary by group size and booking type, and Alpine Adventure Club offers competitive rates for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
