Trip Summary

The Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour is one of the best ways to enjoy nature and wildlife in Nepal. This exciting adventure takes you to the flat lowlands of the Terai region, where you can see wild animals, colorful birds, thick forests, calm rivers, and open grasslands.

The tour brings you into Chitwan National Park, the first and most famous national park in Nepal, located just 162 km south of Kathmandu. It’s a perfect trip for families, nature lovers, and anyone who wants to see Nepal’s wildlife up close.

Chitwan National Park was established in 1973 and covers 937 square kilometers. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park has different landscapes, such as forested hills, large grasslands, and riverbanks. Trees like Sal, silk cotton, acacia, and sisam grow here, making it a rich home for many animals.

This park is the last safe place in Nepal for the Asian One-Horned Rhinoceros, and it’s also one of the best spots to see the Royal Bengal Tiger. You may also spot leopards, sloth bears, different types of deer, monkeys, wild boars, jackals, civets, mongooses, wild cats, and snakes. The rivers and lakes here are home to crocodiles and the rare Gangetic dolphin.

If you love birds, Chitwan is a paradise. Over 450 species of birds live or visit here. You might see herons, kingfishers, storks, egrets, cranes, ducks, parrots, woodpeckers, hawks, falcons, swallows, and many more.
