  • Overview of the trek

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, or Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek, is a popular and easily accessible base camp trek in Nepal. Located in the Annapurna Conservation Area, the trek offers a unique combination of natural beauty and cultural richness. The trekkers trek through contrasting landscapes, from the stunning rhododendron forests, cultivated farmland, alpine meadows at high elevations, and traditional Gurung villages, all set against the backdrop of the breathtaking Annapurna mountain range.

The highlight of this trek is to ascend Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters. Bordered by colossal Himalayas such as Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), and Hiunchuli (6,434m), the base camp offers perhaps one of Nepal's finest mountain vistas. This trek will suit trekkers wishing to have a high-altitude trek without technical climbing expertise or extensive acclimatization.

One of the best aspects of the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is that it is flexible. The normal path can be modified according to your time and physical strength. To do a shorter trek, the trekkers may begin and end the trek at Samrung village, which is reachable by an off-road vehicle from Nayapul, so it becomes easy to finish the trek within 7 days. The trek takes you through scenic places like Jhinu Danda, where you have the option to bask in the natural hot springs that flow through the hills—a pretty reviving experience after a week of trekking.

After reaching the base camp and basking in the panoramic view, trekkers normally return by the same trail to Samrung, where a jeep takes you to Pokhara. At your option, you can drive back to Kathmandu or fly back. In case of limited time or where you wish to have a moderately challenging trek with maximum returns, the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek offers a memorable experience amidst some of the most exquisite landscapes of the Himalayas.

Highlights of the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek

    • Reach Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), surrounded by towering peaks and breathtaking Himalayan views.
    • Explore diverse landscapes—from lush forests and terraced fields to high-altitude alpine meadows.

    • Relax in natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda, a perfect way to unwind after trekking.
    • Flexible trekking options—short and long itineraries based on your time and fitness level.
    • Rich biodiversity within the Annapurna Conservation Area, home to rare flora and fauna.

The ABC trek offers impressive views on surrounding mountains, great nature and many opportunities to get to know Nepali life & culture. The trek was very well organized by Binod's Company.
