Annapurna Base Camp Trek 7 Days
The short Annapurna Base Camp Trek of 7 days is quite a challenging, but possible if you are fit and ready for long days of hiking. If you prefer to do shorter than 7 days, you need to use flights between Kathmandu and Pokhara then Annapurna Base Camp trek can be completed in 5 days.
But if you wish to include the village of Ghandruk or Landruk in your itinerary, you will need an extra day, means the 7-day itinerary can be extended to 8 days and the 5-day itinerary can be extended to 6 days.
The short version of the Annapurna Base Camp trek (ABC trek) usually takes 7 days and allows you to trek directly to Annapurna Base Camp without visiting Poon Hill and other beautiful places as in the long route.
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a breathtaking journey through diverse landscapes that offers panoramic views of the Himalayas, lush green forests, winding rivers, colorful villages, and cultural encounters along the way in the Annapurna region of Nepal.
During the journey, you can see magnificent snow-capped mountains like Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Khangsar Kang, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).
The trek starts from Simrung village, near Jhinu Danda (place of the natural hot spring) and ends at Simrung village. It is about 3 hours drive from Pokhara. There is a newly built road between Nayapul and the village of Simrung, but four-wheel drive is required as there are still some unpaved sections.
The trek takes you through popular trekking stations of Jhinu Danda, Chhomrong, Sinuwa, Bamboo, Dovan, Himalaya Hotel, Deurali, Machhapuchhare Base Camp, and finally you reach Annapurna Base Camp at an altitude of 4130 meters. After exploring the base camp and the upper section near the Annapurna glaciers, the trail back to the end point of the trek is almost entirely downhill, on the same trail you used to hike to Annapurna Base Camp.
Upon arrival in Simrung, take a local jeep or private jeep to Pokhara and same day evening flight back to Kathmandu to finish the Nepal trip within 5 days. However, our 7 days Annapurna Base Camp trek itinerary uses tourist bus between Kathmandu and Pokhara.
