Yoksum to Dzongri Ridge Trekking
Sikkim most popular short trek to Dzongri Ridge in the Kanchenjunga National
Park. Trek through virgin rhododendron forests and experience the native culture
of Sikkim. Climb Dzongri Top at sunrise to enjoy spectacular close up views of
Mt. Kanchanjunga, Kabru, Pandim and many other snow capped peaks.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive at Bagdogra Airport, NJP Railway Station or Bhadrapur Airport.
Drive up the Teesta valley to Gangtok the capital of Sikkim. Hotel.
Day
02: Gangtok town & Rumtek Monastery sightseeing. Hotel.
Day 03: Drive
Gangtok to Yoksum (1770m). Visit Tashiding Monastery enroute. Lodge or
Camp.
Day 04: Trek to Tshoka village (2745 m). Tent or Trekkers
hut.
Day 05: Continue trek to Dzongri ridge (4000 m). Tent or Trekkers
hut.
Day 06: Morning climb Dzongri Top for sunrise views. Camp. Afternoon
return trek to Tsoka. Tents or Trekkers' Hut.
Day 07: Trek back to
Yoksum. Tents or Lodge.
Day 08: Drive to Bagdogra Airport, NJP Railway
Station or Bhadrapur Airport. Or onward jurney to Darjeeling or Kailimpong. End
