Along the way, explore Tibet’s most iconic landmarks, including the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and bustling Barkhor Street, immersing yourself in centuries-old Tibetan Buddhist culture.

    As the journey continues westward, pass through the historic towns of Gyantse and Shigatse, where you'll visit revered sites like Pelkor Chode Monastery, the Gyantse Kumbum, and Tashilhunpo Monastery, seat of the Panchen Lama. The landscape gradually becomes more dramatic as you approach the Himalayan range, culminating in a visit to Rongbuk Monastery (4,980m)—the world’s highest monastery—and a hike to Everest Base Camp (5,200m). There, you’ll stand in awe before the towering north face of Mount Everest (8,848m), surrounded by snow-covered giants and stark mountain beauty.

    From Everest, descend through the remote valleys of the Qomolangma National Nature Reserve to the border town of Kyirong (2,700m). Cross into Nepal and continue through forested hills and scattered villages toward Kathmandu, where your journey concludes.     Detailed Day-to-Day Itinerary

    Day 01

    Arrive in Lhasa (3,650 m) and Transfer to Hotel

    Upon arrival at Gonggar Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Tibetan guide and transferred to your hotel in Lhasa (approximately 98 km / 2 hours). Take the rest of the day to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude. Overnight at hotel in Lhasa.

    Day 02–03

    Sightseeing in Lhasa

    Spend two full days exploring the spiritual and cultural highlights of Lhasa. Visit the sacred Jokhang Temple and stroll around the bustling Barkhor Bazaar, a traditional pilgrimage route filled with local life. Tour the majestic Potala Palace, the former residence of the Dalai Lama, and explore two of Lhasa’s most important monasteries—Drepung and Sera—known for their historical significance and vibrant monastic life. Overnight stays at your hotel in Lhasa.

    Day 04

    Lhasa to Gyantse (3,950 m) via Yamdrok Lake (4,400 m)

    Begin your journey from Lhasa to Gyantse, covering a distance of 261 km. Ascend to Gampala Pass (4,794m) for stunning views of Yamdrok Lake (4,400m), a turquoise lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Drive along the lakeshore and experience the serene beauty of the area. Continue through picturesque villages and traditional Tibetan landscapes, stopping for a brief visit to a local family if possible. Arrive in Gyantse (3,950m), a town rich in history, and explore key sites such as Pelkor Chode Monastery and the impressive Gyantse Kumbum, a multi-tiered stupa filled with chapels and ancient murals. Overnight at hotel.

    Day 05

    Gyantse to Shigatse (3,900 m)

    After breakfast, depart from Gyantse and drive approximately 90 km to Shigatse (3,900m), Tibet's second-largest city. The drive takes you through scenic Tibetan landscapes, passing traditional farms and vast highlands. Upon arrival, explore Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of Tibet's largest and most important monasteries, home to the Panchen Lama. Stroll through Shigatse’s vibrant market for a taste of local life, and enjoy the cultural atmosphere of this bustling city. Overnight at hotel.

    Day 06

    Shigatse to Rongbuk (4,980m)

    Start your journey early, driving approximately 334 km from Shigatse to Rongbuk Monastery (4,980m). Along the way, stop at Lhatse (4,050m) for a quick break, then continue over the Gyatso La Pass (5,248m), which offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. As you pass through Qomolangma National Nature Reserve, enjoy scenic views of the high-altitude landscape. Arriving at Rongbuk Monastery, the world’s highest monastery, you will have your first spectacular view of Mount Everest (8,848m). Spend the night at Rongbuk in a guesthouse.

    Day 07

    Rongbuk – Hike to Everest Base Camp (5,200m) – Drive to Kyirong (2,700 m)

    Start your day early, departing from Rongbuk Monastery (4,980m) and embarking on a hike to Everest Base Camp (5,200m). The hike offers stunning views of Mount Everest (8,848m) as you approach the base camp, allowing you to fully immerse in the grandeur of the world's highest peak. After taking time to explore the area and soak in the breathtaking scenery, return to Rongbuk Monastery. From there, continue your journey by vehicle towards Kyirong (2,700m), driving approximately 315 km through the rugged Tibetan landscape. Arrive in Kyirong for an overnight stay at a hotel.

    Day 08

    Drive from Kyirong to the Border – Continue to Kathmandu (175km)

    After breakfast, depart from Kyirong and drive toward the Tibet–Nepal border. The journey covers approximately 175 km, offering beautiful views of the Himalayan foothills. After completing immigration and customs formalities at the border, cross into Nepal and continue your drive to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel, then our service ends.

    While prior trekking experience helps, most treks are designed to be achievable with average fitness. Some high-altitude treks may require conditioning or preparation beforehand.
    There is no strict age limit, but participants should be reasonably fit. Trekkers above 60 or with health conditions should consult a doctor before the trip.

    Accommodation & Facilities

    Accommodations are usually in local lodges or tea houses with basic amenities—clean beds, shared bathrooms, and dining halls.
    Some lodges offer hot showers for an additional fee, but availability may be limited at higher altitudes.
    Charging is available in most lodges for a fee. Power supply may be limited or solar-based, so bring a power bank as backup.

    Packing & Gear

    You’ll need layered clothing, good trekking boots, a daypack, a sleeping bag (if not provided), and basic toiletries. A detailed packing list will be shared upon booking.
