This area is famous as a holy pilgrimage place for Hindus and Buddhist devotees. You will have the opportunity to visit the unique villages of the area with out standing views of the world's highest mountain such as Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Nilgiri. This trekking is also famous because you trek through the valley to the heights in the deepest gorge in the world. This trekking can be done in less time also because of the regular flights from Pokhara to Jomsom. We experience a range of surroundings, from the culture of the lowland villages to the splendor of the high Himalaya. This trek gives many spectacular views of the two Himalayan giants, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgir and gives flavors of the Tibet-like country north of Jomsom. There are two ways to get to Muktinath from Kathmandu. Either taken a direct flight from Kathmandu via Pokhara to Jomsom and hike for a 7-8 hours via Kagbeni or to trek all the way from Pokhara which takes 7-8 days. It is believed that one should visit this temple after competing pilgrimages of four Dhams in India. This temple held sacred by Hindus as well as Buddhists. The Jwala Mai temple nearby contains a spring and an eternal flame fed by natural gas underground. Jomsom is a major center in the Annapurna region.
